July 3, 2018

Beau is up next. He's sharing the team's top spots they'd like to roam someday! You can find these destinations and many more on the Tripcents app. Have a look at JJ's list too!

Hong Kong : Culture, Shopping and Nightlife

Some of the team has been to Hong Kong and they say that this city is absolutely incredible. It’s beautiful, cultural and diverse. The location makes it a perfect home-base to jump off and explore the rest of Asia from. Whether you’re going to mainland China or Macau, it’s only a quick ferry or train ride away.

Hong Kong boasts an amazing melding of cultures. British and Chinese cultures are most prevalent due to the fact that this place was taken over by the British forces after the defeat of China in the Opium War of 1842. When you’re in Hong Kong, it feels like you are at the center of a new James Bond movie because of its cultural diversity. In 1997, Hong Kong became a Special Administrative Region of China.

Aside from the bustling city and amazing nightlife, beautiful beaches and nature appear just a shirt ride outside of the city. There are beautiful hikes that lead to an amazing vantage point on Victoria Peak overlooking the harbor. You can also hit the local cultural shops along the ocean at the Stanley Market or visit the famed Temple Street Night Market.

This place is one of our favorites. You should add it to your bucket list and start saving!

Madagascar : Nature and Adventure

Madagascar is rarely thought of when you go to pick your next travel destination, but it should be! It’s one of the most stunningly beautiful places on earth. It’s a massive island nation off the southeast coast of Africa and is home to thousands of species that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. As you could have guessed, based off the animated movie Madagascar the Lemur is one of those species!

The country itself is extremely diverse and stunning. You can visit multiple different ecosystems unique to only Madagascar. The red Tsingy geologic formation found in the northern tip of the island. This formation was formed millions of years ago as sandstone was overlaid by red clay. You can travel to the western side of the island to see the famed boabo trees.

If you’re not into nature exploration, you can visit one of the beautiful beaches in Anakao for amazing diving, snorkeling and surfing. You can also enjoy a number of upscale oceanfront resorts.

It’s not always thought of, but you should definitely start saving for a trip to this beautifully unique island nation.

Moscow : Art and Culture

Yes, the 2018 World Cup is being played in Russia, but if you’re not a soccer (futbol) fan there are still plenty of reasons to visit the nations cosmopolitan capital. Culture, art and history are at the center of this city’s tourism, boasting many theaters and museums.

Everyone knows Moscow for the Red Square or St. Basil’s Cathedral, which are absolutely stunning. You can also learn more about the amazing architecture in Moscow by visiting the Kremlin or Kolomenskoe Museum.

You can also check out the Bolshoi Theatre, which offers world-famous opera and ballet performances. If ballet isn’t your thing, you can always check out some more modern theatres, such as Practica Theatre, Theatre.doc or Gogol-center, for more contemporary performances.

Moscow is also home to an extremely diverse nightlife with many bars, clubs and parties. If you’re into the club scene, Propaganda is the oldest club in Moscow and is home to many large DJ parties. Sign us up! Let’s start saving up for Moscow today.

Rwanda : Nature and Adventure

When we think of Rwanda we think of lush jungles, wildlife and GORILLAS! Rwanda is a landlocked East African country with a green, mountainous landscape. Its renowned Volcanoes National Park is home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. You can explore Volcanoes National Park through a number of gorilla trekking tour companies. One of our favorites is the sustainable eco-tourism group called Amahoro Tours. Their mission is to support the local community and build on local tourism.

If the jungle and trekking are too much for you, you can check out the Rwanda Lakes. Rwanda Lakes is a beautiful volcanic and freshwater oasis on the countries border with the Congo. You can enjoy beaches, hang gliding and water skiing while you wait for the rest of the crew to get back from a nearby gorilla trek.

You may be thinking, Rwanda has to be HOT! However, the climate in Rwanda is unlike other African countries. Despite its proximity to the equator, the weather is pleasant throughout the year due to its altitude. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be saving up for a trip to this beautiful African country.

Bogotá, Colombia : Culture and Cuisine

Colombia. We know it gets a bad rap in the news, but Bogotá is a super safe starting point to explore this beautifully diverse country. Bogota is the country’s high-altitude sprawling capital.

La Candelaria, its cobblestoned center, features colonial-era landmarks like the neoclassical performance hall Teatro Colón and the 17th-century Iglesia de San Francisco. It’s a beautiful mixture of colonial meeting modern. This is where most travelers tend to congregate and it’s for good reason! Many bars, hotels, museums and cultural points of interest stem from this town meeting center.

Bogota is home to popular museums including the Museo Botero, showcasing Fernando Botero's art, and the Museo del Oro, displaying pre-Columbian gold pieces. If museums are too slow for your taste, you could always seek out some of the wonderful dining experience in the town center. One of the top choices is the steakhouse, Andrés Carne de Res. If you don’t know what to get, the #1 dish is al trapo, or chargrilled beef tenderloin.

Whether you’re exploring the museums along the cobbled streets of the town center or chowing down in one of the many great restaurants, we highly recommend adding Bogota to your trips list.
